Temperatures

Pangong Lake

Kargil (Kashmir – Leh Highway)

Lamayuru Monastry
It is the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monastery, at an elevation of 3510 meters and about 127 kilometers from Leh. The monastery is maintained by the Lal Sutra community of Buddhism.

By Air – From Airplane
The nearest airport is in Leh, which is well connected to Delhi, Jammu, Srinagar, Chandigarh and many other cities of India. From Leh Airport, you can rent a cab to your places of interest. There are many accommodation options in Leh city.

By Road – from the way
Ladakh is located 434 kilometers from Srinagar and 494 km from Manali. To reach Ladakh, you can hire a taxi or jeep or keep it in the JKRTC bus. Alternatively, you can start a bike journey from Srinagar, Manali or Chandigarh to Leh, depending on the time you have. During the winter months the highways are closed due to heavy snowfall. Therefore, you can travel only from road to Ladakh from May to September.
